🥯🍞🥖 Do you find bread and IBS confusing?
➡️ We get told not to have white bread as it’s too low in fiber
➡️ But high fiber bread contains FODMAPs still
➡️ So we choose sourdough bread but this contains gluten
➡️ And some gluten free breads contain FODMAPs 🫣
🙋♀️ The truth is that everyone with IBS will have different tolerance levels and it’s important to work out what yours are otherwise you could be facing a life without bread 😅😭😭.
🤩 However - the best bread to go to for most people is a wheat or spelt traditionally fermented sourdough bread because this is low FODMAP and the gluten content won’t make a difference. Do the full FODMAP diet to identify if you can eat regular bread or not as ideally you would be having this with the lovely fiber content in it. |
