Hi Olivia,
Juices can be a great addition to any diet as they contain many vitamins and minerals.
However, very few juices are considered low FODMAP, as FODMAPs add sweetness and taste to juices.
While you are following the low FODMAP diet, you may enjoy moderate amounts of FODMAPs on the low FODMAP diet.
Luckily, we have rounded up some juices that contain moderate amounts of FODMAPs for you to try:*
- Freshly squeezed orange juice (up to 97ml)
- Tomato juice (up to 129ml)
- Cranberry juice (up to 140ml)
Do certain juices help with IBS?
There are claims that some juices, like celery juice or aloe vera juice can improve gut health.
However, these claims are not backed up with research. In fact, celery juice may make your IBS worse as it contains the FODMAP mannitol.
*Please check the Monash App for the complete list of low FODMAP juices, including low FODMAP juice portion sizes.
We have written an in-depth post on fruit juices, which you can read here. |
